No Mans Land Airsoft

No Mans Land

AMS No Mans Land Airsoft, a unique airsoft site and experience based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Their sites main attraction is the intense action packed trench network that runs down the middle of the site featuring other landmarks such as an underground command bunker, pill box with underground passage entrance and above ground doorway, sandbag ridges and much much more that you are bound to come across!

As well as the trench warfare battles there is also a vast woodland for you to explore and a village area meaning those who like to get up close and personal with a CQB preference can do so also, there truly is something for everyone.

The Day!

On the weekend of 16th April 2022, I wanted to celebrate my dog’s birthday so I looked to see if No Man’s Land was dog friendly and it was! We headed up on the Friday and were greeted by a couple of marshals. We set up our tents and a few more marshals/players arrived to stay the night.

As the evening progressed, we had a DJ who was playing some tunes with some disco lights and even a bit of karaoke took place. We had two fires going as well to keep us warm. Marshals were all more than accommodating offering us to put the BBQ on and to ensure we had refreshments.

Saturday morning, the game didn’t start until 1pm so we had time to have a look around the 62 acres of site and see the large trench network they had built. They had a large cabin clearly labelled for players to book in and a small shop round the side with airsoft gear and refreshments. Around 12pm, chrono opened as players had arrived to play the afternoon/evening games. We were then given a safety brief which marshals ensured all players were listening to. We played a few hours of games before it was break time where the BBQ was put on again. They then played a couple of evening games as it got dark. The site consisted of a CQB building which was painted black inside so it was even darker to add to the excitement. To exit the building, they had incorporated a slide on the top floor as we all love to bring out the child in us at times!

For the evening, there were a few more players staying the night and the site put on their entertainment again. Atmosphere was great and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

Sunday morning arrived for a normal skirmish day, there were over 100 players for this day. Chrono opened but with only one marshal doing this, there was a fair queue. I’d suggest maybe having two marshals to chrono in future with high numbers. We had a safety brief and it was time to play. On the first game for Sunday, marshals gave snipers a chance to set off early, after the briefing, into the game zone to find a good spot and have time to set up. I felt as though this site was extremely accommodating for snipers and understood how to help snipers have an effective game/day.

During the day we had different game plays and with a good turnout of players, marshals ensured rules were followed to the best they could. With there being more participants, a 4x4 with the roof open and a jeep were used during the games. The site was very pyro friendly also which made it more exciting. The smoke heading across the trenches made the site look more amazing.

Overall, the weekend was one I won’t forget. It felt as though the marshals knew exactly what was needed to put on a good weekend and did their best to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I really wished I lived closer to visit this site on a regular basis but no doubt I will be heading back here very soon.
